US Excess Deaths Over Time

I was curious how the initial COVID-19 spike affected death rates, so here you go:


That's it. I just took the data from the CDC, averaged each weekly value in 2017, 2018, and 2019, then subtracted that average from the actual deaths each week and plotted what's above.
